"When I started out, I was an eccentric artist with no connections, no business savvy, and like most artists in my industry, I didn't have much affinity for the business side of fashion-just a burning desire to create an effect with my work. Then I was introduced to Hubbard Management Technology and using Hubbard PR and Marketing principles my company grew 500 percent in six years. It is now being a multimillion-dollar company."

Career Education: Why Some Salesmen Can’t Sell

I am Franco Chavez, a Peruvian student from Lima on the Associate Degree Program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.
I always asked myself why there were so many salesmen that couldnít sell or why there were so many salesmen that have this superficial interest in you because deep inside they are thinking of something else? At least a couple of times, Iíve encountered some salesman in such a bad mood that I felt sad about it. While doing this apprenticeship, I realized that it really is hard, if not impossible, to sell a product that you have no interest in. If all these salesmen had at least some minimal interest in what they were selling, their jobs would be so much easier.
From the very first moment my apprenticeship supervisor told me about Vibrant Life as a site for my sales apprenticeship, I was very interested. I like all subjects about nutrition and exercising. So I had good affinity with the product. The vitamins and creams were a great product for me to sell because I knew that by selling them I was in some way helping the buyers to improve their health.
So I personally think that these two ingredients are basic to getting a sale: 1) interest or affinity in the product you are selling and 2) interest in the person that you are selling the product to. This is applicable to anything that you want to sell.

Career Education: Ethics and Business

I am Mary Beth Shields and American student taking individual courses at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA. I just completed the ìEthics for Business Survivalî course.
I took this course with little to no understanding of ethics (that is, how they apply to an individual or how they apply in a business). Not only do I have a clearer understanding, I know how to handle situations on every level. I can act ethically, morally and know when and why to apply justice.
The supervisors were all patient, understanding and extremely helpful. They listened to what I had to say and directed me to the information. I learned techniques for demonstration that really helped in understanding concepts.
This was an excellent course and I recommend it to business professionals and individuals.

Degree Program: Marketing Apprenticeship

I did my Marketing Apprenticeship at Fresh Aire Duct Cleaning.
This was such a fun apprenticeship that I enjoyed so much and I learned a lot about the subject of ëMarketingí. Now I can promote and sell anything to the WORLD!!
First of all I needed to know about the product very well in order to sell it or promote it. If you donít know about your product very well you canít make any promo piece for it. You canít let the other people know about it. You canít sell it. Before I started this apprenticeship I wasnít aware about the air duct cleaning industry at all. So I needed to learn about it from the beginning and it was very interesting.
I went to the actual job site and observe the air duct cleaning service. I even went up to the attic with one of the employees and took some pictures of the employee who was cleaning the main air duct system with his tools. Now I know the air duct cleaning procedure very well. It was such a valuable experience for me.
Through this apprenticeship I realized something pretty cool. With the tech I learned from the Marketing course, I can promote anything and everything if I want to! I can get the result very easily, without having any problem. I can create want for any kind of product, from anybody! The tech is very simple and amazing.
I designed a promo piece based on the survey result and the owner of the company liked it very much. They printed 10,000 copies of it for their promo campaign. One of the sales ladies started using my survey result when she was closing the sale over the phone. After a week, she achieved the highest statistics for weekly GI of ìhome air duct cleaningî!
I really enjoyed this apprenticeship. Even though Iím an apprentice, it was very nice to see the humongous effect I created on the actual business, using my newly attained Marketing abilities. This increased my confidence concerning my knowledge. If you look at the world you will see a lot of misunderstood technology, promo pieces and PR campaigns. Iím sure that my products are more effective than some current successful marketing companies and will continue to improve my skills in the years to come!

Career Education: A Self Validating Curriculum

Where to beginÖ ìHow to Get Along with Othersî is my first apprenticeship. At first I was apprehensive about doing an apprenticeship but was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. Although the courses are great and awesome, itís the apprenticeships that provide the proof that what one is learning actually works.  The experience of the apprenticeships releases any and all doubt about the workability of what you are studying. That type of validation is what a student like me needs to continue studying and learning. I am now more eager to go through courses and as a byproduct of this increasing confidence in the applicability of what I learn, I am more curious and interested in what Iím being asked to study. The courses offered here are real business, the kind of business insights and tools that I donít think I would learn anywhere else.

Associate Degree: People Skills

I am Toby Grim, an American student from Phoenix, Arizona on the Associate Degree Program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.

Associate degreeI had a good time working with Fabian. I’d met him before and he was always a cool guy so I was thrilled to work with him on this “Handling the Ups and Downs in Life” Apprenticeship.  I’m glad that I could help him realize a few things about his situation that he hadn’t realized previously. He said he was having wins throughout reading the material; that was really cool to be a part of.

From the subject:

Toby was great and professional. His knowledge of the material was excellent. The success I had was on the ARC Triangle (A= affinity, R= reality or agreement, C= communication). Although I had gone over this ARC Triangle thousands of times, I learned something new about intention and how if the person you are trying to handle has no intention of hearing you or listening to your advice it can create an upset.

Associate Degree: What If a President Could Make the Nation’s Dreams Come True?

Associate DegreeI am Bassam El Houssami, a Lebanese student from Beirut, Lebanon on the Associate Degree Program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.

What if a president had the technology of planning? These days, it seems like presidents are just skilled spokesmen that articulate dreams. If they only knew the correct way to make those aspirations realities, then they could make a difference in the world. Planet Earth is full of dreams and ambitions that, if materialized, would create a prosperous world community.

On this course “How to Make Planning Become an Actuality,” I learned the management tools of how to transform plans (dreams) into reality. Now I can actually start with my dreams and, using the Hubbard Technology of Planning, make them!

In summary, all companies, organizations or individuals plan; however, they commonly face insurmountable problem(s) of execution. Now, a technology exists that definitely works to bridge the gap between conception and actuality. Imagine a president with these planning tools; wouldn’t you want to live in that land where dreams become actuality?

Associate Degree: Know Before You Promote.

Associate Degree: Know Before You Promote
I am Felipe Pedrosa, a Brazilian student from Manaus, on the associate degree program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.
I have just completed the ìMarketing and Public Relations Surveysî course. This course presents one of many management tools comprising Mr. Hubbardís Administrative Technology.  A survey is a tool an executive can use in order to establish reality with its community, district or any other area.  The results of a properly composed, executed, and tabulated survey allows management to gauge the demand of its public. A basic survey technology maxim is ìknow before promoting.î  It sounds like common sense and easy to implement; but there are specific steps that must be followed.  If they are, the results can be an impressive inflow of public and increased sales. Why? Because when you survey first, you know to whom to promote, what to promote, and how to promote. You are more precise in your actions than just promoting to everyone.  Bottom line, a company must know its specific public and what they want that the company can supply in quality and quantity.
In summary, the data in this course provides management with the tool it can use to discover what is wanted and needed by its staff members, current customers, and potentially new ones.
After completing this course, I understood why there is so much promotion and why most of it is ignored. Those companies are not establishing reality with their public before promoting.  Bottom line, a company must know its specific public and what they want that the company can supply in quality and quantity, BEFORE promoting.
I am glad I can use one more management tool in my business or any business for that matter. It is all about the simplicity of know before you promote.

Career Education: Business Success Is Not a Matter of Time but of Know-How

career educationBy Shannon Lavenia from Los Angeles, California on the Continuing Education Program for her career education at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA. Shannon is the owner of Lavenia Enterprises, LLC.

While on the “Executive Tools” course, I split with a business partner. While this could have been devastating, I was able to make the decision because I had a greater understanding of good business practices; I was empowered.

I immediately started to attract new business and suddenly found myself inundated with more business than I thought I could handle. So, I sat down with my husband (at the “Productivity Workshop” here at Hubbard College of Administration) and worked out my Organizing Board. I also brought two of my staff with me to the Workshop. They were totally blown away with the information and began immediately applying it. Using the newly constructed organizing board, I identified where we were missing staff and hired them.

With the tools gained in the “Executive Tools” course, I began hatting, training on duties and responsibilities of one’s position, my staff and putting the organization lines in. As a consequence, our production went up. Everyone is working together well and is eager to do a great job. All of this occurred over a four-week period, which would be absolutely astounding to most people. But, with the Hubbard Administrative Technology, it doesn’t take a lot of time to implement organization and increase production, it just takes knowing what to do and how to use the tools of management.  We are monitoring our statistics, a number or amount compared to an earlier number and amount of the same thing, applying the proper improvement formula for the determined operating condition, and enjoying the increased income that it is bringing.

I recommend this course to any business owner or executive who wants to get production up and keep it up while maintaining a happy, successful staff.

Career Education: How to Effectively Handle Work

career educationI am Greg Lewis, an American executive from Los Angeles, California on the Continuing Education Program as part of my career education at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.

There are some terrific principles in the “How to Effectively Handle Work” course that any manager or business owner can use to help his or her employees that are having trouble on the job or are simply stuck in mediocrity even if the employees don’t realize it.

Following and implementing these methods will make happy employees, teams, and departments. Furthermore, these techniques support overall harmonious and profitable business success for many years to come.

This stuff is not complicated but it sure works like a charm.

Career Education: How to Handle the Drop-Out Rate

career educationI just completed the “Basic Study Manual” course as part of my continued career education and was thrilled to discover there are actual proven methods in overcoming many learning obstacles.  I’m excited to be able to share what I’ve learned with co-workers, friends and family.

If the Basic Study Manual was used in the various school systems throughout the country, the children themselves could take back the educational process to make it work for them, instead of against them.  I am certain we would see drop-out rates dramatically reduced.

Let’s make this learning tool available to the public!
