How does one find out exactly what is causing the company to stay small? How does one know where to look? How does one know if the right reason they thought cause? How long should it take to evaluate a scene in an organization? I am sure many executives ask these questions from themselves. I know I did until I completed my Data Series Evaluator’s Course. This Blog answers such questions.

No matter how big or small the organization or company, there are some “basic” tools that executives need to have. One of the most “basic” but very important tools is keeping statistics for every product in the company. By doing so, an executive can “manage by statistics” and see at a glance how well the company is doing compared to last week or few weeks ago. Then an executive can see which area of his company is lacking or producing less that it should have. After gathering some data, he is able to go and inspect the area of production and “evaluate” the scene to find out if there are any outpoints. However, the executive needs to have an “ideal scene” in his mind, meaning he has to imagine how he wants his department to look like. For example, how organized does he want the area to be? How many products does he want made per hour? Therefore, after going to the “existing scene” he can compare the “ideal scene” with the “existing scene” and find out how different or even similar they are.

After doing some research and some investigation, an executive would have an idea what things need to be handled. Then he needs to dream up a “bright idea” to handle the scene and the situation. So, if the scene improved that means the “reason” was the right one and the executive did a good investigation of the area and his evaluation was correct. However, sometimes the scene does not improve. The executive must immediately change everything back to what it was before and investigate further. In addition, it should not take an evaluator more that few hours to complete all the above. Itís not a task that takes days, but rather hours. I promise you that if anyone takes this course, he or she will be able to find the right situations and handle them right away. Investigatory tools are important for executives up on the echelons of management. The higher the position in the company, the more they need to know how to investigate situations.

I am very interested to know how other executives evaluate their companies and how often do they get the result they are hoping for.

This is Elena, an Associate Degree student of Hubbard College of Administration. Today, I was reading the news about what is going on in my country, Russia, and I found this article:

“‘According to the latest official figures almost two million Russians lost their jobs between January and the end of March. This combination of rising unemployment and rising prices is what some analysts believe could lead to unrest unless the situation improves in the near future,’ says the BBC’s Richard Galpin in Moscow. ”

As part of my Associate Degree, I took the course “Financial Planning.” Knowing this, I can see that only incompetent, ignorant financial management could wind up in such a crisis. This course gave me the data on how to increase my income, how to build up reserves of my company, control business expenses and set up a system that allows fast and accurate overview of the financial situation, etc. This is incredible data!

Having this knowledge and APPLYING it no Crisis can occur! I really believe that managing any company, or even more importantly managing a country, is a big responsibility, which demands knowledge! Management of any group should know this! I can even say, “Must know this!” Maybe some governments need to redo their management career education subject and get adequate knowledge that works!

Five years ago I graduated from a Russian University in Moscow. I got a college degree as an environmental engineer. But soon after graduating, I started to ask myself, “Can I really work as an engineer? Do I have enough knowledge and experience to start working in this sphere?” Unfortunately, my answers to these questions were “NO.” After 5 years in the university, I had no idea how to apply that data which I “got” a diploma for. I was in confusion. I had a lot of problems finding a job. At that time I had the idea that I needed another education which would give me tools for business and life, not just a piece of paper named a “diploma.” Now I am a student at Hubbard College of Administration and very close to finishing my Associate Degree. And this program is exactly what I wanted!

In this college degree it is quite remarkable that there are apprenticeships after almost every course you do. You cannot say, “I don’t know” or, “I am unable to apply the knowledge gotten!” It is impossible, as you have to demonstrate it in the apprenticeships every time! .

The study method used here is so great that every student KNOWS what he learned and IS ABLE TO APPLY and has lots of perspectives in their life regarding the data.

In some months, I am going back to my country. I am very confident in my future, I have my goal in life and I have management tools which will help me reach success in my life. Now, that is a career education.

For What Other Reason Did You Go To College?

So either you just finished college and have a huge debt to pay off, or you’re going to start college real soon with not a lot of money.

You expect to make money and pay off all the debts right after school, right? Well that may be, but unfortunately the hard truth is – you’re going to be left in the cold.

Students go to college for 4 years, which cost way too much, and then they graduate and find out they don’t have actual experience to actually find a job that’s good.

They’ve been so sunk into books all those years, they never learned how to actually apply what they were studying! They were studying just to get a good grade!

And then you keep not applying it, because you can’t really get a job in that major you studied in.

So it dies off inside of you, you kind of forget it and college now seems like a big “Why the hell did I do that?”

But you still got your degree at least…yeah.

So what makes this piece of paper so valuable? It’s some kind of mistaken belief that this paper will make you successful, this is completely ridiculous.

It’s your ability to apply what you studied in school which makes you successful, even if the paper got you a job, it won’t let you keep it for long if you don’t learn how to actually DO something.

I was amazed when I finished my first real business course here at the Hubbard College, to be honest I was a little afraid to be honest to be sent out to a company. I was expecting to be kind of a total newbie to the stuff.

But I came to the company and you really apprentice, you get assigned an employee in the company who is familiar with what you studied. It’s nice to know that TONS of companies are applying what we are learning here.

So we sat down and I could completely see all the aspects I learned and I saw it come to life a little bit. It became so real to me!

When you see it in real life, it sticks way better to your mind.

Kind of like “a picture speaks a thousand words”, you know?

Sometimes we all look for answers, solutions to those aaaccching questions we have. Where am I going? What’s the point of it all?

I used to be like that.

I sat around, hung with friends, played games, chased girls, slept, studied, etc.
But then came a point in my life, where I realized that I wasn’t going in any direction at all, even though I had told myself I wanted to become successful one day.

And I wish that point had come to me a lot earlier.

I got up and started looking for answers; I looked for it in my own country. I even thought I had it for a while by doing Commercial Engineering. I finished the first out of four years and found out it wasn’t the solution.

I then got a lousy job (because I couldn’t get hired because of my inexperience), worked at it for 2 years, didn’t get me anywhere.

Luckily my dad came to me one random day in May, and said there might be something for me to “just take a look at”. This was a slick looking Business Administration College in Los Angeles called Hubbard College, I said “Why not check it out and enjoy the sun while I’m there?”

Who would have guessed that was the best decision of my life.

I quickly signed up for the Business Administration Degree they offer.

I now not only get a great education, I get actual experience.
They send me out to companies as an apprentice, and eventually as an intern, to actually learn to APPLY what you study.

This seemed like such a good idea, they even HELP you find a job.
And they have gotten about every graduate one, isn’t that amazing?

When are you going to get up?

In these hard economic times, when college students are done with their studies, they wonder, “what I’m going to do?” or, “how can I find a job?”

Here at Hubbard College, the school helps you find a job where you can start your professional career and success in life. Also, students go to lots of companies when they are doing their apprenticeships. They get job offers based on how well they perform while doing their school work.

In my personal case, I was doing my Financial Planning Course Apprenticeship at a medical clinic. When I was almost done with the apprenticeship, the owner of the company talked to me and offered me a position where I had to take care of the finances of the business. Unfortunately, I already had a job. I think that that was amazing since not too many colleges have these opportunities for their students.

This past week I finished the last course on the Associate Degree program, the Sales Course. The day I finished it I started an apprenticeship, which was aimed at putting my knowledge to the test. The practical side (as opposed to theory study) is what really helps graduates here find a job. We all know managers look for experience in new recruits…right?

In the two days I took to sell, I sold a lady a month of service with me as well as did some cold selling on the street like the old days and sold five units in two hours! I also finally tackled my email files and compiled all of the names, numbers and email addresses of everyone who’d contacted me for services since 2007. Now I know that when I contact these people I’ll get a much higher closing rate. I now actually have career education to back up my experience whereas before all I had to work with was trial and error.

When I went cold selling I took a good friend of mine along and gave him a quick rundown on some simple sales no-no’s as well as some tips. Throughout the selling he made price concessions, which were unnecessary. I promptly corrected him after the sale and got across to him that if the person is receptive, you don’t need to make any price reductions. Only reduce when absolutely necessary, not as a courtesy. We both broke old habits and know we’ll do well in the future as a sales team.

Though I have done an entire course and apprenticeship on sales, I’m still learning on the subject and plan to attend the sales workshop here at the college June 26th and 27th.

Hi I’m Janz Gonzalez (the Cuban) from Hubbard College. I was attending another college located in San Luis Obispo, CA but that didn’t match my life style.

When I started in Hubbard College I was coming to school 40 hours a week and at that time I didn’t have to work. However, the college is located close to Hollywood and I like to dance and hang out at the clubs. Because of that, my expenses increased and I needed to find a job. When I got the job I was able to change my study schedule without having to drop any courses. If I would have been at another college I wouldn’t have been able to make these types of changes until the semester or quarter ended. This is what I call a perfect schedule for a perfect career education.

Now that I’m almost done with the Associate Degree program, I decided to finish it faster so I saved some money in order to keep my life style and I’m coming full time to the college again.
