Before coming to Hubbard College, I was literally lost, trying to find out what to do with my life even though I was in my last year at the university!

When I completed High School I did not know what I wanted to do either, but I wasn’t worried as I was told I would figure it out in college (“that’s what college is for” I was assured) so I felt I had plenty of time.

I took all the classes I was supposed to take and did everything I was advised to do, all the while waiting for that elusive insight that would somehow illuminate me with the realization of what I was meant to do in life.

But now here I was with one year left and still no clue as to what I was supposed to do!

Needless to say, I was a nervous wreck — I became desperate as I felt like time was running out with an impending “deadline” quickly approaching and an empty, worried sick feeling in my stomach (a feeling I unfortunately became way too familiar with in school before exams on classes I really only half-understood if I was lucky and saw little value or use for in the first place).

I suspect my parents had a terrible time with all this as well.

In an effort to help, my father had me try different things and I was so desperate I agreed to do so. I tried various things like music, computer coding (programming) and even some athletics, but no luck.

His intention was good, but doing these things only frustrated both of us, as I didn’t like any of them (how could they be right for me when they were not done on my own determinism).

I kept wondering: “how can I not know what I want to do after studying so many different subjects?” especially since I was almost done with college….

To make matters worse, despite completing 3 years of college, I really didn’t know much at all. Even though I had studied a lot of subjects and got decent grades, I actually knew very little. I memorized a lot to pass tests, but soon after, I forgot it all and was left with little true understanding.

To be blunt, I really didn’t get most of what I studied in college and I definitely couldn’t use it: I had lots of misunderstood words, tons of false data and I was left with nothing I could actually apply.

Talk about disappointment — I thought the university was where one went to REALLY learn….

Once I had difficulty with a particular class so I decided to re-take it with a different professor (I thought maybe the current teacher just didn’t explain it correctly or something like that).

Imagine my amazement when even though I re-took the exact, same class the following term, it taught totally different data!

I came to the chilling realization that there was going to be no sudden insight; no magical illumination or automatic realization where I would get the answers I had been awaiting for years.

It was all pretty much up to me to somehow resolve this dilemma.

Fortunately, I had heard about Hubbard College and just when everything seemed hopeless, I decided to come here and look into it.

And I literally never looked back!

Now, my viewpoint is “I KNOW”.

Not just with regards to what I want to do with my life but in everything I do.

I can now envision the result of what I am doing or will be doing and so can foresee if something will benefit me or not.

I now have abundant confidence in everything I do in life.

For example, when trying music, I was always very nervous before a performance, sometimes to the point that I simply could not perform. Now, I am very relaxed in front of a group because I am much more confident.

Knowledge gives confidence and certainty and now, I KNOW.

When I first came here, I could barely speak English. Now I can communicate and speak English better than ever before.

Now I am AT CAUSE. I can control the result of my actions by the application of the technology I have learned here!

I also managed to change my Dad’s viewpoint!

Before he assumed I knew nothing and so he would always tell me what to do. Now he respects my viewpoint as he can tell that now I KNOW what I am doing and he sees I am competent.

Perhaps the biggest difference between Hubbard College and the University I attended is that at Hubbard College, you APPLY the material you learn to an actual result.

It’s not just a bunch of theory; you actually USE it and can see for yourself that it is workable. It’s not based on opinion, but rather on key data that is needed in life — you can SEE that it works and it works EVERY time you apply it!

Every course in the degree program has an apprenticeship where you must apply what you learn at a real business to excellent results before you are allowed to go on to the next course.

These apprenticeships made it very obvious if I missed something when studying the theory, as then there would be no result.

I actually found out what I was missing and so I was able to fill-in the gaps and end up with full understanding!

It’s not like in a regular school where you may get 80% or 90% with no chance to find-out what you didn’t get — here, when you don’t get something, you get corrected on what was missed and you don’t pass till you DO get 100% of it.

When you complete all the courses and their apprenticeships, you do a final Internship where you have to use EVRYTHING you learned in the degree program, again at an actual business.

For my Internship I went to a local business where I worked for almost a month starting in Mid November.

The business had started in May 2011 and was sluggishly going along, sometimes making enough income, most of the time not. The owner was just coping, trying his best to keep going but he did not know what to do to expand the business.

He had tried all sorts of advertising, etc. but nothing really made a big difference, so he was anxious to see what a business degree intern could do for his business.

First I compiled and then inspected the main statistics from June to November 2011.

Then I debugged why the stats had gone down and why they had improved during that time to get the successful actions back in use. There was some mild improvement and this gave him some hope.

During the 3rd week I did marketing surveys to find out how to best promote for new customers, what to SAY in the promotional material and HOW to say it to get a response.

During the following week the promotional material was distributed and, the stat graphs immediately showed the following significant improvements:

127% increase in Number of Customer Visits (this was the highest ever for the business);

167% increase in Number of New Customers (the 2<sup>nd</sup> highest ever);

406% increase in Gross Income (the highest Income ever)!

I accomplished all of this in just under a month of applying what I learned at Hubbard College.

Since completing, I check with the business office once a week to ensure they are still keeping in the successful actions and their stats continue rising!

Honestly, if you are even vaguely uncertain about what you want to do in life (or completely lost as I was), doing the apprenticeships will give you the chance to experience various different business environments so you can see what direction you might like to go in.

You are encouraged to apprentice at as many different types of businesses as you like and so find what you really want to do.

I highly recommend it!

The following is a success story from a student who recently earned the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Management and Administration.

The Hubbard College degree program consists of many individual courses, each covering a specific subject vital to successful administration. As each course is completed, the student must successfully complete an apprenticeship where he applies the material studied in order to graduate that course.

When the student completes all the courses in the degree program, an internship is completed wherein they put all of their training into practice. The internship requires evidence of successful application attested to by the supervising business owner or executive. The internship program enables students to gain real-life experience applying all of the materials studied in the degree program to produce real-world results, making them a valuable asset in any organization.

Associate of Applied Science Degree in Management & Administration Internship

Success Story

It was a pleasure working with the CEO of StormMaker Productions on my internship.

The first thing I did was fine-tune the company organizing board — they had an org board, but it was out-dated and too broad. I re-did the org board to fit their current scene so it would be more in-line with the actual needs of the company.

I then derived proper statistics for each of the departments so the department heads would not only know what their products were but they would also have statistics to measure them.

These were then added to the org board itself so they could thereafter use it to post future personnel.

Next I established statistics for the entire company. I worked out what statistics they could use and scaled the graphs to properly show the trends for the past 4-5 weeks up to the present.

I then worked with the CEO to apply the correct condition, setting quotas and production targets and then got her to fully apply the condition steps. Sure enough, they all of a sudden got more jobs coming in!

The CEO figured this happened because I got her to actually do the steps: that was quite amazing — applying the condition and target steps immediately produced a definite result.

I have experienced a lot of things and I feel that this internship was like shooting a movie for me.

When I did one thing, something happened; I did another thing, another result came up, etc.

Those were like the different scenes in a movie. And with the tech, I was able to spot what was missing or incorrect and so correct it before continuing with the movie.

As I did different tasks, the movie got better and better, until it eventually became a well-shot, well-crafted film with great public response!

I would like to thank everybody at the College and my parents for always helping me out!

Thank you very much! I had a great time!

He’s reading the book at night and applying it to improve his sales. We would have had a lousy trade show if we hadn’t all done this course as there were obviously less buyers attending. But instead we did great even after raising our prices 15%. We’re now on track to beat every other year and we’ve been in business for over 30 years.

What the course personally taught me as the Sales Manager, was how to strategize and work out sensible tools that aid my sales force. My job is to figure out the packages and specials and give them to my team as tools to assist them in their sales. I hadn’t realized this was part of my job, to create sales games for my sales force.

It has totally changed my sales peoples’ viewpoints and they are now a winning T-E-A-M!”

The following is a recent success story from a student doing an internship
via the Hubbard College of Administration. The internship program enables students to gain real-life experience applying the materials they have studied to produce real-world results, making them a valuable asset in any organization.

My internship gave me more than I expected.

First of all I learned how to write programs and get them followed through to the end. This is very important as one needs to follow the steps that have been thought-out and put in the right order to accomplish anything. The help from Hubbard College on this was really appreciated as they guided me to create real operating programs that lead to results.

Through the action of getting other people to follow orders I found out how important it is to write programs and orders on a gradient and in their own sphere of reality. There were things that I believed other people knew and should apply easily, but I found out they really couldn’t and that one must cut the gradient to get a result.

I used standard Hubbard Administrative Tech in a successful company in the U.S. and also in an unsuccessful one in Greece and I got results at both.

Applying my program to the first business resulted in more order and coordination. Personnel learned what an org board is and their positions in it. This actually made them happier and more secure while at the same time, they had a healthy stat improvement.

Prior to this, I thought that only businesses that had problems needed me. Now I know this tech can and should be applied at all businesses, specially in successful ones, as they need real help to go on being successful.

That was a big change in my viewpoint.

In Greece I helped a company that was in liability by putting order in so they could get their sales up. My program got them out of apathy and working to sell and get their stats up to a healthy range. From this I learned that putting in ethics and applying some control results in finding the real treasure in any business: able personnel that can get it going again.

I had to take full responsibility for this company and overcome many obstacles but with the help of my apprenticeship supervisor I got over the difficulties and helped change their lives.

Their stats are going up, and more importantly, they are using Hubbard Administrative Tech.

Before, there was “no hope” — now they know they can make it no matter what: they know there is a solution.

I also now see how easily my country could get over its difficulties and rise again to the glory it deserves. Sane, ethical people with good intentions using Hubbard Administrative Technology and some positive control, is all it would take to reveal my country’s real treasure.

What I have gained from this application is certainty in Hubbard Administration Technology and the amazing results it can give in practically “reviving” the dead.

It is one thing to have the theory of a subject: it’s a totally different thing to be able to apply it in real life. The internship gives you the certainty you need for the standard application that gets results. I had great support from Hubbard College in successfully applying my program and the necessary orders despite being many, many miles away and in a chaotic business environment, as exists in Greece today.

I want to thank the Hubbard College team that helped me through this experience as it strengthened my intention to apply Hubbard Administrative Technology and so fulfill my dreams.

I want also to thank my brother Alex Alemis for his support and for introducing me to Hubbard College, and of course thanks to the man that is behind all this, L. Ron Hubbard, who spent his life giving us the tools to help each other do better in life.

I look forward to continuing my studies at Hubbard College and business people looking for real solutions should do the same, as the results are very fast.

Thank you.

With respect to the amazing job you are doing,

Kyriaki Alemi

I just finished The Director of Marketing & Promotion course here at Hubbard College. It was amazing! In under a month I learned the full technology of marketing. Throughout this course I began to see how important and basic Marketing and Promotion really is. My conversations with business associates and friends prove truly that the data I am learning was not only accurate but simple and understandable. I know people that have gone to school for years to be a Marketing expert and those very people were calling me to get advise. This course strips away the confusion and chaos and lays the exact precise foundation in which Marketing is truly composed of. I am not only grateful for this knowledge but I also have a firm new reality on my personal worth and value to the society. I am confident and know that I can go anywhere, to any business any activity and implement what I have learned………I got all this in less than a month!
