"When I began practicing dentistry I was eager to service everyone. After all, that is what doctors do. However, I had no management technology and found myself frustrated and stressed out. I was constantly looking for an answer to improve as a person and improve my practice. After being in the field of dentistry for six years and only getting by with great effort, I was introduced to the Hubbard Management Technology and began to apply it to my practice. I saw results instantly in myself and my practice. My stats sky rocketed."

Associate Degree:

I am Jack Cheng, a Taiwanese student from Kaohsiung on the Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Management and Administration at Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.  I just finished the ìPublic Relationsî course.
In this modern society, Public Relations (PR) becomes a common word, but What does PR mean? Who should use PR? Where does PR apply? When should PR be used? It may seem that there are a thousand answers to these questions. However, this course answered ALL OF THEM! This course contains an organized, systematic and applicable description, which makes the complex subject ñ PR become easier to understand.
Before I took this course, I thought PR was just used in a large company or by rich men, not by the normal person like myself. After reading this course, my viewpoint completely changed. I just realized that PR should be applied to anyone. This is an information age. The competition in a multitude of ways can attack a company. How do you handle that? Using PR technology will help make your company well known on your terms.
In this course, I cleared a lot of false ideas and fixed ideas I had about PR. Now, I have a much better understanding on this subject. This is not a difficult subject, and I recommend that you come study it.  Doing so will give you the confidence I have on the subject. It also helped me increase my ability to handle my life, and I feel great about that.

Associate Degree: PR Key to Success

I am Wesley Kuo, an American student from Taiwan that just finished the Public Relations (PR) course on the Associate in Applied Science degree in management and administration at Hubbard College of Administration.
The PR course is amazing!  By doing this course I got a clear concept about what PR is (good and bad), and how to implement PR. Also, this course covers a very important point, what is referred to as ìthe opinion leader.î This is the type of person who has a lot of influence and can affect other opinions, so itís very important to know how to conduct a proper PR campaign using this individual, thus having much more of a positive impact on others.
I realized the basic theory for PR in this course, which I can now take with me in order to apply it in my career!

Associate Degree: People Skills

Associate Degree: People Skills
By Josh Lin, a Taiwanese student from Taichung on the Associate Degree Program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.
I’ve been wondering why people do this or do that for a long while; I really wanted to know why. I wanted to know how to get along well with people. Or when I see some human reaction, I wanted to know how to handle it. Unfortunately, I never got this question sorted out. By doing this course ìHow to Evaluate and Predict Human Behavior,î I got a framework of understanding that allowed me to resolve this issue for myself. Now I am more confident about dealing with people.
Handling people is built on three essential factors: Affinity (closeness), Reality and Communication. They form what is called the ARC Triangle.  The three factors are directly correlated.  Meaning as one moves up, the others move up, as one moves down the others move down. It is very important to know this when one is dealing with people or inanimate objects. For example, if I want to know something better, then I need to reach it, which requires increasing my affinity toward that. When I communicate with it, I get more reality about it.
Another important tool I learned about human behavior centers around emotional tone. I learned that each emotional tone has a predictable set of physiological and behavioral correlates. For instance, how one listens or speaks will differ for a person who is angry versus a person who is cheerful.  There is even more to this, no matter what emotional tone someone is in, in order to deal with him or her effectively, one needs to use the ARC Triangle.
In conclusion, by doing this course I acquired at least two vital tools for answering my initial questions about human behavior. Beyond that, the same tools turned out to be fundamental in handling the material world as well. I am now more confident about my ability to deal with my life.

Associate Degree: Public Relations, The Big Picture

I am Bassam El Houssami, a Lebanese student from Beirut, Lebanon on the Associate Degree Program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.
Public Relations or also known as ìPRî has been misused throughout the years due to insufficient data about its full scope and purpose. Everyone knows what ìPRî stands for, but what does it really mean? PR is ìEffective cause well demonstrated.î In short, PR is publicizing effective causes that you have done to society or people. Doing so will cause an organization or individual to have good PR. These days, PR is sometimes conceived as only how you walk, how you talk, how you dress, etc. This is incidental to the ìEffective cause well demonstrated.î
In history, renowned opinion leaders have used PR to influence and mold public opinion either to idealize them or to degrade others. It is still being used today to fund wars, raise money for charity, destroy organizations or launch a new organization and improve the image of an existing organization or person. It is a PR world.
While doing the ìPublic Relationsî course here at the Hubbard College of Administration, I learned a wider scope of application of PR; specifically, it can be used for an individual, a family or an organization. Reading Effective Public Relations gave me a lot of reality on how PR has developed from its early stages to what PR is known as today. This book presented some of the campaigns executed by major corporations and indicated what was effective and what failed. The book was a compilation of important data about PR and its use.

Associate Degree: Public Relations Apprenticeship

associate degreeI am Miranda Hazen, an American student from Los Angeles, California on the associate degree program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.

I recently completed my Public Relations Apprenticeship at the Hubbard College of Administration and I was very happy with the outcome. On this apprenticeship, I did many drills on how to handle different situations that are related to public relations that come up in the real business world: manners, opinion leaders, how to handle an enemy line, handling black PR, how to create a safe space from which to promote one’s company (safe pointing), the PR process in total to name a few.   These drills took the theory of the “Public Relations” course and gave it mass.

This was really amazing because after doing these drills I began to notice that many big well-known companies don’t know how to handle their image correctly. They don’t know the rules of PR and so they get themselves into situations that make them look unprofessional. With this course and apprenticeship, you gain the tools to establish good relations with the public.  In addition, you gain tools to handle negative press or engineered campaigns against your company.

Knowing how to present yourself and your business is a key factor to being successful. Therefore, knowing PR is vital!

Career Education: Public Relations Apprenticeship

Career educationI am Franco Chavez, a Peruvian student from Lima on the associate degree program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.  I just recently finished my “Public Relations” apprenticeship. I have to admit that I was a little worried about how I was going to host an event for the purpose of introducing new people to a product or service.  To handle the situation, I just applied what I had learned in earlier courses at Hubbard College of Administration.

Through this apprenticeship, I realized the importance of PR for any business that wants to be successful.  Successful companies employ PR to improve the relationship with their public. PR increases public awareness of the company, resulting in increased demand for its products or services. PR helps a firm go from being a ghost to being a reality to its public.

During this global economic crisis, PR can be a great tool. Now is the time for companies to focus on their Public Relations.  They must begin by doing surveys to find out what their public needs and wants, then deliver a high quality product or service to satisfy that. Additionally, companies need to identify the opinion leaders in their area and build a relationship with them and to get them to help promote their product or service.  In addition, companies must handle any black PR coming from competitors that want to see them out of the market, leaving those competitors in a position to set prices according to what the market will bear. In summary, building a strong and stable relationship with the public is an essential aspect of ensuring viability, and that is the role of PR.

Associate Degree: Public Relations Apprenticeship―Being loved is beautiful!

public relationsBy Hiro Suganuma, a Japanese student from Yokohama on the associate degree program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.

Last month, one of the top Japanese businessmen launched a new brand of stylish and fashionable eye wear at the center business district of Tokyo, Japan. His brand concept is that the perfect eye wear is a fusion of art and utility. This caters to the many artists, models and musicians who are opinion leaders in Japanese fashion.  These people owning these glasses automatically promote the glasses. This brand is now very famous in Tokyo.

In the midst of such high competition, how did this entrepreneur make his brand so famous?  Answer, he employed Public Relations technology.  Specifically, he did a huge campaign at the grand opening.  He promoted to the public on a grand scale by giving away 1,000 pairs of glasses. He used the press, magazines and TV media to promote his grand opening event.  There were more than 2,000 people in attendance vying for those free glasses.  The front of his store was deluged—you couldn’t get in!  As an image of success, that was very good PR.

Subsequent to the launch, word of mouth spread, drawing more customers to his store.  Some of them were even famous opinion leaders.  Now we have his PR strategy reaching those who reach many. When the opinion leaders wear the glasses, their followers buy the glasses. This has paid off the Japanese tycoon has made millions and millions of dollars.

This businessman’s main strategy emphasized increasing affinity and agreement with a heavy dose of communication, orchestrated by the PR technology.  He created a huge wave of involvement between his brand and his public with the grand opening of the store. Next, he used some opinion leaders to establish more affinity and identification with his product. He wanted his public to buy his glasses. And, he got them to buy them by identifying the glasses with the opinion leaders they loved which carried over to the public loving the glasses. How easy is this?

I learned from the “Public Relations” course and the “Public Relations” apprenticeship that if your public admires you, they will do whatever you want them to do within their reality. Furthermore, I learned how to use PR technology to create that admiration for your product or service.

For my “Public Relations” apprenticeship, I put together a Hubbard College of Administration tour of the facilities for some of my friends.  One of them loved the College because I applied the PR technology with skill and confidence. She wrote as a testimonial that if she would go to any college, Hubbard College of Administration would be the only place she would go.  Thank you.

Associate Degree: Public Relations Is about Telling the Truth

Associate degreeBy Damiano Shehu, an Albanian student from Tirana on the associate degree program at the Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.

I just recently completed the “Public Relations” course. This course was really great because I realized that everyone in this world deals with people at least a couple of times a day. Thus it is extremely crucial that one knows the Public Relations (PR) Technology to help facilitate relations with people.

I always thought that PR was pretending to be someone you’re not in order to impress people or lying to make you or your company appear better. From this course, I learned that one never lies in PR. PR has been improperly used in contemporary society. It is used for forwarding lies, creating war and supporting vested interests.  We call that black PR.  On the other hand, “white PR” is public relations that forwards pro-survival actions and products.

I really enjoyed this course. I think that every individual that works with people needs to have this data. The only way for an organization, business or individual to expand is by maintaining a friendly relation with their public and environment. PR contains the technology that achieves this.

The HCA is a self-paced business school that offers an exceptional business administration curriculum, unique learning technology, life-changing apprenticeships and internships, assistance with job placement and a lifetime warranty for students.  I am currently on the “How to Increase Profits through Proper Financial Planning” apprenticeship.
