Associate Degree: A Journey Well Traveled.

My name is Jamie Chang, and I just finished the ìBasic Organizationî apprenticeship as part of my Associate in Applied Science Degree at Hubbard College of Administration International.
It was a journey for me to complete all 5 tasks for ìBasic Organizationî apprenticeship. However, Iíve learned so much from it. Not only did I learn more about the functions for different positions in a company, but also by chance have become an amateur in the film industry!
I have always been thinking of taking film classes or choosing film production as my major.  However, I was hesitant, because I didnít know how long my passion for the field would last. Fortunately, I had a chance to work with an individual whoís a movie producer and heís been working in this field for a long time. It was very difficult and tough at first, but after a couple of interviews with him and doing some research for myself, I have become more familiar with the film industry.
The most amazing thing is that by creating an ìOrganizing Boardî for a business, youíll find out that you have naturally learned about 80% of whatís needed in that field! Filling out the functions for this companyís project ìOrganizing Boardî felt like a wonderful adventure in film industry. And last but not least, doing an ìOrganizing Boardî doesnít have to be big and complicated.  I was told many times, ìJamie, just keep it simple, simple, and simple!î This is very important! Keep it simple, and donít get too complex! The simpler you construct it, the more clearer it is to see and use.

Associate Degree: Planning with programs

By Alex Edwards. A student who finished “Make Planning Become an Actuality” course on the Associate in Applied Science Degree in Business Management and Administration at Hubbard College of Administration International.
Companies today certainly have no shortage of plans. They distribute and sell them in abundance. However, how many of these plans actually prove to be successful? How many of them were given enough attention, but not so much that it detracts from other plans? In addition to that, how many are actually being DONE? The answer is simply, not enough. Our entire economic system is in turmoil due to planning not becoming an actuality. California is a good example of this. The state’s officials have made the planning for getting the state out of such drastic debt a dogís breakfast, and have not made enough substantial breakthroughs in handling the situation. What if you knew exactly all of the rules and all of the requirements, so that you can fully execute a valid and successful plan in your business? Boy, if the stateís officials had this information, they would surely make headway. This is exactly what you learn on this course!
Before doing this course, I didnít know all that much about planning. I knew that you had to do research and observe what worked, but I was without the data on each of the exact steps in establishing the firm route to success in planning. Now my entire reality on the subject has been changed for the better.  I know every category of action necessary to successfully execute a plan, that there is in planning and I know what to do when a program, which is a series of actions necessary to implement a plan, isnít moving along or even when a plan has been guided into the wrong direction by an executive.
After reading all of the articles in the course, I got to write up my own program for my job.  I put all of the data that I learned from the course to use and made a full and valid program that I could apply. I then put the program into action and it was an immediate success!

Associate Degree: My Internship Saved a Company

Associate Degree: My Internship Saved a Company
My name is Damiano Shehu.  Iím an Albanian student from Tirana on the associate degree program at Hubbard College of Administration (HCA), Los Angeles, CA.
The ìFinal Internship for the Associate of Applied Science: Management and Administrationî was just great. I got to see how fast this technology could change things. It was nothing short of miracle; a miracle that anyone who applies this tech can achieve.
I worked with a company that designed and produced movie and television props. They had been hit hard by the recent economic crisis. My initial observation was that the company had great potential. However there had been no production for the last 12 weeks: no work, no leads and ultimately no income. Also, I noticed that there was very little outflow of communication and promotional activities.
Based on my initial assessment of their scene, I concluded that the biggest problem that needed handling was promotion.
Therefore, the first action that I decided to do was significantly increase the outflow of communication and promotion. I came to this conclusion, because I saw the company was non-existent and needed to produce something. So, to handle this, I sat with the two top executives and emphasized the importance of outflow and promotion. I doubled the post cards outflow and the reaches for business increased by 250%!
About two days after the first wave of promotion went out, the company received its first job in four months. The company grossed $3,391.27 for that week. I then ensured that they were keeping the promotional actions going. As a result of this, the company closed another job for $7,800.00 the following week. Today, the company closed two more jobs totaling $7,000.00. Thus, the company grossed $18,191.27 in a period of 4 weeks. This was a thousand percent increase over the past twelve weeks, which had zero ($0) income.
When I look back at my progress, I feel proud of what I have achieved. Most importantly, Iím the product of all of the staff members here at the college. They should feel proud of what theyíve done. The results that I have obtained as well as other students are a direct result of their dedication and hard work. And on that note, I thank you for changing my life and making me more able to be successful in my chosen profession.

j0283210Based on my initial assessment, I concluded that the areas most needing change were marketing and promotion. A REAL strategy needed to be developed in order to confront the non-existent amount of reaches the company currently had, and also to get the company communicating their message effectively to their target markets. I presented an outlined strategy to the two top executives and emphasized the importance of its immediate implementation. It was very validating to see that the executives were impressed with my proposed solution and that they agreed to have me execute it. The strategy immediately yielded results with reaches for the company increasing 250%, and a 5X increase in income over just a four-week period!

Associate Degree Success Story

blog-18-imageCompleting the associate degree has been a very long journey for me. At times I felt I would never finish. But the knowledge I have gotten has been well worth the trek.

Before I started the associate degree, I felt that I was a “smart” enough guy to be able to start and run a business. As I progressed I realized that there was so much information that I had been missing. And each step along the way I have added a tool to my belt. One of the great things about Hubbard College of Adminstration is that I was able to use each of my new tools as I got them, and boy did I!

Each time I would complete a course, I would find myself using everything I learned without having to think about it. I could see that things that were difficult could be made much easier by just doing what I learned. I can’t begin to tell you how often I use the knowledge that I’ve gained. It isn’t like I have to put effort out to do something or remember what to do, I just do it. It makes life a whole lot easier. Every day I run across things that I do because of the knowledge I have. It’s innate to me.

An executive is someone who gets things done. That is a statement that could be mistaken as somewhat of a small requirement. We all get things done, don’t we? But in fact when you work in the real world the majority of people don’t have the ability to do just that, get things done. This I feel is the greatest thing I have gained from my associate degree. There isn’t a single aspect of a business I feel I couldn’t get done as the executive. I have the  entire wherewithal I need to really get it done, no matter what it is.

I don’t have a single favorite part of the associate degree program. Every course fits together to really create a full understanding, which you don’t fully have until you have done every course.

I know I will use everything I’ve learned for the rest of my life, and I am so glad that I made the decision to get the knowledge I now have.

An Administration Degree to Manage a Business

As a young entrepreneur I never wanted to find a job and work for a company. I just wanted to own my company. These days I hear that a lot. Someone asks little Timmy what he wants to be when he grows up, “Own my own business.” Everyone says great and just carries a long. Well I realized a few years back that owning your own business is a lot more complicated than that.

I needed to get a Business Administration Degree, or else I was never going to reach my goal of “owning my own business.” Well I’m almost there. I haven’t got my Business Administration Degree yet, but I’m already starting my own business. And on just the start-up I’m very happy I have all of the knowledge I’ve learned so far. I don’t think I would have made it this far without learning how to really run a business.

My theory is if you know how to run a business, then you know the proper way for it to be set-up. And it’s also a whole heck of a lot easier to set it up.

Today’s world is changing, and you’ve got to know what you’re doing just to keep up with the changes that are going on out there. Mark Cuban recently asked on his blog for a good idea for a new product or business that needs his money. Hundreds of people out there have submitted in-the-works ideas, but few have been chosen.

The point is 5 years ago that would have never happened. With the Business Administration Degree that I’m getting from Hubbard College, I feel like I have the ability to survive in this crazy business world.
